3/23/2008 - Recent News Round-up Just a quick summary of recent DRE news events:
Soleil Still a Go! Soleil is still a go, but will no longer be considered a mini-series. Originally slotted as part of the sci-fi/fantasy/suspense anthology The Realm Weaver, Kyle Borcz' Soleil was to be a multi-part episode, but was then taken out of that series schedule, and given mini-series status. But company CEO, and RW Executive Producer Jonithan Patrick Russell recently decided to throw the four part mini back under the umbrella of the successful anthology series. He is quoted as recently saying, "we hope there was no confusion, and that no one thought Soleil had been cancelled". The storyline (which will feature a guest appearance by Big Finish Productions Doctor Who actress India Fisher) will be produced, and is currently in post production limbo, (in other words) awaiting completion once it has been re-assigned an editor. The epic story, which has gone through a long production process, is scheduled to finally see the light of day later in 2008.
Celena's Dreams Cancelled!! Yes, the fledgling sci-fi/fantasy shorts anthology series, which introduced us all to the likes of Wally the Wizard and Squiglies has been cancelled by DRE CEO Jonithan Patrick Russell. The reasons given are simple; a lack of interest in the series, a lack of short material, as well as the fact that JPR is making an effort to pull back on some productions in order to make room for more regular dramatic fair. More on this to come.
Robotz of the Company - Season 5 Confirmed! DRE CEO, and ROTC Executive Producer Jonithan Patrick Russell recently confirmed the go ahead for the 5th Season of Robotz of the Company! The DRE sci-fi sitcom will be back for the 2008/2009 season with a brand new holiday special, plus a full thirteen episode season of shows! The new season gets kicked off in December with the holiday episode titled "It's A Wonderful Bot", and then sees the 5th Season Premiere hit the web-waves early in 2009! JPR promises all new surprises, more new characters, more new twists, and the return of some popular old characters, which he was rather reluctant to reveal at this time. It was also revealed that this new season will reveal much more of the on-going story arc than ever before! We'll have more news on the 5th Season in the weeks and months ahead!
Purple No More You may have noticed the disappearance of the Purple Unicorn on all DRE Shows since December. That's because DRE CEO Jonithan Patrick Russell decided to remove the name from regular releases from December onwards since the name really never caught on. Dream Realm has long looked for a title for the audio production side of things, but it seems the Purple Unicorn label wasn't the answer. The label will not disappear forever, however. JPR plans to reintroduce the label sometime in the future on a different line of products. More on this when we have more info for you. Stay tuned!
